Meet Our Veterinarians
Lauralyn Brown
DVM
VETERINARIAN & HOSPITAL OWNER
Dr. Brown has been practicing small animal medicine in the Pioneer Valley for 25 years. She grew up in Greenfield, attended Hampshire College in Amherst, and went to veterinary school at Kansas State University. She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She enjoys practicing preventative medicine and appreciates the special bond that she forms with her long-term clients. She has a special interest in dentistry and behavioral issues.
Dr. Brown shares her life with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Porschia; a Papillon mix, Anna; and Mini Australian Shepherd, Beckett as well as her two Pygmy goats. When she is not in the office, you can find her hiking mountains, running, swimming, or playing with her dogs in various forms of obedience and agility.
Jaimie Remillard DVM
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Remillard joined our team in 2022 following several years at our hospital while completing her externship. Having earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, she now joins Dr. Brown in providing quality, compassionate patient care. Dr. Remillard is a native to Western Massachusetts, having spent her youth immersed in 4-H and regional equestrian events. She completed her undergraduate studies from UMass Amherst and graduated from Saint George University in 2022 where she earned her DVM. Dr. Remillard brings with her a strong background in caring for an array of species spanning large animals, cats, dogs, pocket pets and exotics with an interest in wellness & medical care, soft-tissue surgery and dentistry.
Desmond Muther
DVM
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Desmond joined our team in 2023, bringing with her four years of experience caring for small animals, having earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 from Virginia-Maryland Regional College. Dr. Desmond's passion resides in client education and helping pet parents provide quality lives for their four-legged family members. Aside from her passion for preventative medicine, Dr. Desmond brings with her an affinity for ultrasonography.
Dr. Desmond is a New England native and enjoys her free time in the outdoors with her husband, daughter and hounds, Scarlett and Rogan.

Cheryl C.
Business Manager
After 10 years as Practice Manager, Cheryl now oversees the financial business of the hospital, paying bills and processing payments, maintaining QuickBooks, doing payroll, preparing reports for our accountant.
When not at work Cheryl spends time with her husband and three Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Emily J., CVT
Practice Manager
Emily joined our reception team in May of 2017. She has since developed her technician skills and graduated from Holyoke Community College earning her degree in Veterinary Technology. She now leads our patient care team.
Emily enjoys spoiling her ex-stray cats, Larry and Jingles and her dog Esther (who has stolen her heart). She enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking and golfing.
Michelle W.
Lead Receptionist
Michelle joined our team in 2019 with an extensive history in nursing. She has lived in the area throughout her life, and is absolutely the best at making our patients feel at home.
Michelle spends her free time reading, practicing photography, and enjoying quality time with her family both two and four-legged, including three cats and a German Shepherd.
Cheryl F.
Technician/Receptionist
Cheryl has been at Dr. Brown's since 2015 and has been working in the veterinary field since 1989. Her love of animals and caring for them has kept her in the field for 28 years. Some of her responsibilities here at the office include being a technician and receptionist, as well as ordering pet food and overseeing inventory. She is very knowledgeable and loves getting to know our clients and patients.
Outside of the office, she has been happily married for 25 years, has three children, and a large pet family.
Sara K.
Veterinary Technician
Sara has been part of our team since July 2017, having entered the veterinary field in 2010. Sara has always had a love for animals, particularly for cats. Her skills extend across all aspects of hospital from reception to surgical support.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and four cats and two dogs.
Shannon B.
Lead Veterinary Technician
Shannon returned to our team in 2019 after spending 5 years in Northern Vermont. Shannon brings a decade of experience to our team, having graduated from Holyoke Community College's Vet Tech program in 2013.
Shannon's furry family includes a Morgan gelding and 3 cats. She enjoys hiking, horseback riding and skiing in her free time.
Erin B.
Lead Veterinary Technician
Erin joined our team in 2020, having begun her career in vetmed in 2012. Erin brings an extensive inventory of skills from reception, surgical monitoring, wellness and emergency care.
Erin enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her two dogs and developing a small farm that current consists of raising a number of chickens.
Leah Y.
Receptionst
Leah joined our client care team in 2021, making the transition from her extensive history caring for humans to helping pet parents care for their four-legged family.
Leah brings with her a strong background in medical and client care, compassion, and of course, a deep love for pets including her own special canine lady, Pinna.
Grace G.
Veterinary Technician
Grace joined our team in 2021 with several years of experience in pet care from daycare, shelter care and as a veterinary assistant. She is currently working toward earning her degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Grace enjoys parenting her three cats and an array of reptilian pets.
Breaunna G., CVT
Veterinary Technician
Bre became part of the LJBVH team in 2022, bringing with her several years experience in small animal veterinary medicine. Bre graduated from HCC with her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2023.Bre passed her VTNE to become a CVT in December 2023.

Veterinary Technician
Madi joined our team in 2022 having prior experience in veterinary ophthalmology. Madi is currently working towards earning her degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
In her free time, Madi enjoys an array of equine-related activities and spending quality time with her feline and equine family.

Nicole joined our team in 2023 bringing with her several years of experience in veterinary medicine and a passion for wellness care. She is currently working toward earning her degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
